Tonight for dinner we had spaghetti. We had no sauce. So i automatically thought "I'll make my own." Thanks to my mothers over prepare-itve-ness we had an extra can of plain tomato sauce in the pantry from when we made chili a few weeks ago. And this is what came out of it. A whole blog post about spaghetti sauce :) On the bright side, I got a new recipe out of it!
Homemade spaghetti sauce:
First you're gonna brown the ground beef in about 2 tablespoons of butter {yumm}.
While thats cooking your gonna mix {in a separate bowl}, your tomato sauce. Your Italian seasoning and your garlic. {a little salt and pepper, red pepper flakes, and a teaspoon of sugar.}
Remove from meat from heat and pour in sauce.
Then, let it sit and bubble on the back of the stove until you are ready to eat!
Recipe:
- 1 lb ground beef.
- 1 29 oz and 1 8 oz can of plain tomato sauce
- 1 tbls. minced garlic
- 2 tbls. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
in separate bowl mix all other ingredients
when meat is done cooking {no longer pink},
remove from heat and pour in tomato sauce mixture
when completely heated through, serve over spaghetti.
